A company that wants to develop a new medical product, for example, must first apply for access authorisation. In the further development process, a variety of requirements must then be met, such as complete technical documentation in the development of a medical device. In this case, all incidents related to the development of the new product must also be reported. Once the research work is completed, new products must then be presented to the authorities for approval and labelling. For a medical device, this step involves clinical evaluation, conformity assessment, classification and labelling. In addition to product approval, company product developments and research results that are to be protected against third-party use are registered with the patent and trademark offices.
